The videos were quite interesting.
“Did You Know 4.0″ was a bit of a wake up for me. I knew there was alot of use and users onilne for social media but at the rate its growing is far greater than I could of ever guessed. I just thought facebook, twitter, myspace and all the others were just mainly a pop culture trend. That is until, the video showed political uses and others that are getting in on the action.
“The Machines Are Us/ing Us” was an interesting video but I feel I may be missing the complete whole. My opinion, it seems as if the internet itself, is a type of artificial intelligence sponge that never ceases but if that is so, is the internet ever capable to act independently?
This is the moment the world will know that I am not up to speed with bloggers, tweeters, or any other type of online social media programs. I have a facebook account that has more use than my old dusty myspace account that is in desperate need of termination.
My personal opinion understands the importance of business, promotions, journalism and other relatable categories’ relationships with these programs (that is the only way I know how to refer to them). However, I just don’t understand how the average person (myself included) uses these types of blog or tweet websites to their advantage (outside of class work of course). I just see it as “jumping on the band wagon.” My internet ignorance is not hateful, its just in the dark.
I look forward to turning the light on for this issue and also using it as a weapon to my advantage in the aggressive world of media and design in this unstoppable force of technological change.
